My next call was completely unexpected (as most of them are). I was told to go pick someone up at the emergency entrance to Ashland Community Hospital. When I pulled up to the parking area, I did not see anyone waiting so I parked and walked in to see a man in a full leg cast on crutches being helped through the automatic doors. This guy was everything one would imagine when you think about what a biker looks like. Especially a guy who rides a Harley—long grey hair in his 60s. Tats covering both his arms. About 6’ tall and 180 lbs. He was just getting used to his crutches and needed help getting into the back seat. He had a backpack, helmet (thank God), a small paper bag with handle, another drawstring nylon bag, and a pair of tennis shoes. As soon as he got in, we introduced each other and I asked the obvious question. What happened?
Natural laws are the only laws that we need to be conscious and respectful of. Everything else is a fictitious control mechanism based on our unwillingness or ignorant inability to take responsibility for our thoughts and actions. If we teach each other how to think, we will no longer need to be taught what to think. Current social structures will soon collapse and our beliefs will change. We can never achieve perfection, but we can think better and do better. We must shed our sheepskin and restore proper balance to our planet.
On my way to Beijing, China International Airport for a mere 90 minute layover in route to Bangkok, Thailand for one night only. Security was now simpler and faster. Total travel time was around 19 hours to get to Chiang Mai International Airport. Definitely the longest flight of my life. I have no expectations or thoughts on what's ahead for me. Here we go. Arriving in Beijing, China after a long 10 hour flight. As you might imagine, it was very grey and dim outside. Heavy pollution filled the sky. A nice man told me there are nice places in China to visit and was generous about extending a friendly welcome. This authentic kindness has continued throughout my journey. I am so grateful for this growth opportunity.
